Tuesday, September 6th, 2016It’s now September, and that means the start of cooler temperatures in many parts of the country. Here in the Central Valley, however, we’re still experiencing levels of intense heat and daytime temperatures that sometimes rise into the 90s. This isn’t a time to relax when it comes to proper air conditioning for a home. In fact, this is an ideal season to consider ways to enhance your air conditioning system if you’re not planning to have a complete new installation. Why It’s Important to Hire a Qualified Service Technician
Tuesday, August 30th, 2016Options to Include with a Complete System Replacement
Monday, July 18th, 2016No home’s HVAC system will last forever. Eventually, the heating and air conditioning system will wear down to the point where doing further repairs can be throwing money away. Costly repairs may only keep the system operating for a short time before it’s time for another repair. The system can also drain additional money through inefficient operation. A replacement system gives you a fresh start with an AC and heater that require few repairs and work at peak energy efficiency.
Why Can’t My Air Conditioning System Keep Up with the Heat?
Monday, June 20th, 2016We’re already experiencing searing hot days in the Central Valley as the summer weather really starts to hit hard. The weather forecast shows a slew of days where the temperature will be 90°+ and even 100°+. You need a great air conditioning system in your house now more than ever!
It’s Not Too Late to Schedule a New Air Conditioning Installation!
Monday, June 13th, 2016Have you taken a look at the forecast for the weather in Fresno and the Central Valley for the coming July? It’s going to be hot. Not just your everyday, “Hey, it’s hot today!” sort of weather. We’re talking about more than half the month averaging 100°F or above for midday. The cool days will have average highs of 95°F! This is hotter than we normally experience during the middle of the summer. The August forecast isn’t much better, with the 100°+ temperatures holding through much of the month, and going right on into September.

Ways to Help Keep Cool This Summer
Monday, May 30th, 2016The central air conditioning system is our main weapon against the summer heat. But to help your AC system obtain the longest life possible, as well as to keep down your bills over the season, it’s a good idea to find others ways to keep cool. You can give your air conditioning system longer periods of downtime when you use some of these “stay cool” tactics:
Keep the window blinds closed
You won’t need to have the light sealed off from the inside of your house all the time, but for windows that face toward the sunlight during the day, keeping the blinds closed can prevent up to 30% of unwanted heat from coming in.
Invest in a whole-house fan
This is fan installed in the attic of your home that draws hot air up through the top of the house, which then allows outdoor air to rush inside. A whole-house fan is especially helpful during the evenings, when the air outside the house is cooler than that inside.
Use less light—or change to LEDs
Rely on natural light as much as possible, since incandescent bulbs give off extra heat. (This is also a good way to save on electricity.) For a great longer-term solution, switch over to LED bulbs, which don’t give off heat and use significantly less power than standard bulbs.
The fan-and-ice cubes trick
This is an old-fashioned form of low-cost air conditioning, but it still works! Place a bowl of ice cubes in front of a fan. The air will lose heat to the ice cubes and cool down. This is a good way to chill-out a small part of your house at minimal little cost (just the electricity to run the fan).
The wet sheet across the window
Here’s an air conditioning trick that’s been around for thousands of years: hang a wet sheet in front of an open window. The breeze that comes in will be much cooler, and will lower the room’s temperature quickly.
Drink plenty of liquids
A large part of staying cool is keeping your body cool instead of the air around it. Make sure that you’re well-hydrated on the hottest days of the year with plenty of ice-cold drinks.
My Air Conditioning System Is Noisy—Should I Replace It?
