Alegria Guild: Day in the Country 2013

Alegria Guild’s 62^nd Annual Day in the County will be held at the Historic Cobb Ranch in Madera CA on October 5^th, 2014. This is the annual fundraiser for Children’s Hospital Central CA. All of the funds raised support the Guild’s Child Prevention and Abuse Center at Children’s Hospital Central CA.

The event is a ladies luncheon with 600 guests in attendance. The day features Alegria Guild’s famous baked goods sales, silent auction, Carole’s Dream Playhouse for Kids raffle, cash raffle, shopping at the artisan faire and fabulous guest speakers from Children’s Hospital Central CA. Purl’s Sheet Metal is proud to be an event sponsor of this great fundraising event.

Purl’s Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning has been involved with Alegria Guild for many years. Mickie Purl and Sheryl Berry are longtime members of Alegria Guild and have shared their commitment of Children’s Hospital Central CA with the Purl’s Sheet Metal team. The event hosts a fun bar and Purl’s Sheet Metal members volunteer their time as bartenders. Purl’s Sheet Metal donates all of the ice (about 4500+lbs) for the event. Annual Hot Dog Feed

Purl’s Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning along with Randy and Sheryl Berry hosted the Annual Hot Dog dinner on Sept 3^rd. We hosted dinner for all the 4H and FFA Exhibitors and their families for the Madera District Fair. The 4H and FFA kids arrive a few days before the Fair to prepare to show their livestock animals. This is an annual tradition in Madera that everyone at Purl’s Sheet Metal looks forward to attending.

This year we cooked over 500 hot dog dinners complete with drinks and all the fixings. It is a great way for us to get out in the community and support our local hardworking kids and the agricultural community.

Heart of California Quilt Show Kept Cool with Purl’s Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning Support

Purl’s Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning loves to support our local community. From fundraising for the Camp Fire Heart of CA kids program to assisting with the recent Heart of California Quilters’ Guild show, our goal is to build long lasting relationships with local organizations and community members.

We were recently called on to assist with an air conditioning set up for the Heart of California Quilt Show. Given the high temperatures, it was evident that the show attendees would need to be cooled down in order to safely enjoy the show. So, Purl’s Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning helped out with a portable air conditioner!

Here is a sweet note we received thanking us for the assistance:

Dear Mr. Davidson,

Thank you so much for setting up your air conditioning system at the Heart of California Quilt Show. We so appreciate your quick response to Mike Giersch’s call. It made a world of difference to all of us.

Over the two days, there were approximately 360 individuals who attended the show along with our guild members and vendors. The chairs that were set up in the front of the air conditioned “cool zone” were some of the most popular in the building. I heard many people comment that your air conditioning made all the difference in their enjoyment of the event.

Once again, we appreciate your support of our organization and the Quilt Show.

Camp Fire Heart of CA Fireworks Booth Success!

Thanks to all who came out to support the Camp Fire Heart of CA fundraiser at the fireworks booth this year! We made our budgeted fundraising goal and had a great time connecting with the community. The funds we raised will go directly to the non-profit services of Camp Fire Heart, which offers youth and family services for Madera and Central CA residents. Purl’s Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning is an active sponsor of the organization and hopes that others will be inspired to get involved as well. We hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th of July! Madera Chamber of Commerce Business Extravaganza!

Purl’s Sheet Metal is a Platinum Event Sponsor for the 2013 Business Extravaganza and Trade Show.

The event will be at Hatfield Hall & Patio at the Madera Fair Grounds on June 20^th, 2013 from 4-8pm. The event offers an opportunity for businesses and community members to get to know each other throughout the evening. Lots of fun is sure to be had, including prize drawings for donated goods from the participating Madera businesses at the end of the evening.

Stop by and visit the Purl’s Sheet Metal team in booths 5 & 6. Our newest lines of products and services will be available for preview. Purl’s Sheet Metal will be giving away free packaged popcorn at our booth, PLUS we have working AC in our booth to cool you down!

The Madera Chamber has been hosting this event for many years. It is a fun evening with live music and food vendors from local Madera Restaurants.
