Coats for Kids 2019!

November 22nd, 2019

We are proud to kick off our annual Coats for Kids drive for 2019!

Winter months are on the horizon, and the cold weather will arrive before we know it. Please don’t throw away any coats that are too small for your kids—you can donate them to help others. Bring in any new or gently used coats to Purl’s. All these donations stay in the community and help children in our area.

About Coats for Kids

Purl’s Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning is proud to join Kiss Country (KSKS 93.7 Fresno) and the Salvation Army as a collection sponsor for the 2019 Coats for Kids drive. Each year the community and local businesses work with the Salvation Army to collect gently used or new winter coats to keep kids warm in the cold months.

For more than 30 years, this campaign has brought together organizations, schools, businesses, and members of the community with the single goal to donate to children in need. Kiss Country has been part of Coats for Kids in the Central Valley for more than 20 years. Their efforts to bring this issue and coat drive to the forefront has made a real difference in the lives of many young children.

We have partnered with St. Joachim’s School and Howard Elementary School to help bring in even more coats! We love that the kids of our community are helping give back at such a young age.

Purl’s Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning encourages our customers and members of the community to get involved and help keep the kids in our Valley warm. We’re open to the public as a drop-off location for coats, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To make things easier, customers can also give coats directly to our service team during their winter USA service maintenance. Our goal is to help collect hundreds of coats in the hope that no child will have to be cold.

This year, Purl’s was proud to volunteer at the Alegria Guild’s annual “Day in the Country” event. The Alegria Guild represents Madera County, and its members are made up of a diverse group of women who share in common a love for children. The annual “Day in the Country” is a women’s luncheon that’s great for gathering with friends and family to support Valley Children’s Healthcare.

This year’s event was held on October 5 and included the guild’s famous baked goods sale, box office raffle, door prizes, silent auction, and shopping at the Artisan Faire. Our Purl’s volunteers donated a handcrafted entertainment station for the event. We are always excited to support the Alegria Guild and Valley Children’s Hospital.
