Northern and Central California are seeing a large amount of rain at the end of December and the start of January. That’s good news in some ways, since it helps to ease drought conditions. But it can be rough in other ways—such as on your house.

Protecting your home from rainfall is one of the jobs of rain gutters. Like any part of a home, rain gutters will wear down over time and eventually need to be replaced. With all the rain coming down in the Central Valley, it’s a good time to check to see if you need to replace your rain gutters in Fresno, CA.

What Does a Furnace Limit Switch Do?

November 28th, 2022
furnace-with-pipes

Gas furnaces work on a basic principle: lit gas flames heat air that is blown through the furnace and into the rooms through ductwork. But gas furnaces are complex devices that have several safety features and mechanisms that allow them to work correctly and without creating hazards.

One of the key components for the operation of a furnace is the furnace limit switch. You don’t need to know all the details about this part, but understanding the basics will help you know more about how your furnace works—and why it sometimes doesn’t work.

Benefits of Having a Heat Pump Combined With Solar Energy

November 14th, 2022
Houses-Cold-Hot

A heat pump is a type of HVAC system that uses the same refrigerant-based operation as a central air conditioner, except it can reverse the direction it operates so that it can work to heat a home as well as cool it. Using a heat pump can help a home save money on its heating costs, since it consumes less energy to move heat rather than generate it the way a furnace does.

No other type of air-source heat pump provides as many benefits as one combined with solar power. With a solar-powered heat pump installed in your home, you’ll have your year-round comfort needs taken care of with one system that runs primarily from the free and renewable energy of the sun.

If you’re interested in installing a heat pump in Fresno, CA, here are some of the excellent benefits of using a solar-powered one:

Signs You Need New Rain Gutters

October 3rd, 2022
heavy-rain

The rainy season will soon start, so this is a good time to ask this important question: Are your rain gutters in good shape to handle the downpours, or do you need to install new ones?

People often forget the major importance of rain gutters. They’re responsible for collecting rainwater off the roof and removing it so it doesn’t cause erosion and staining to the building material or the sides of the home. The gutters route the water through downspouts to the storm drains, preventing water from pooling over the property and causing damage or creating flooding in the house. If your rain gutters are starting to decay and come loose, or they’re leaking extensively, you’ll want new gutters installed before the fall rains arrive.

Ductless mini split systems are a type of comfort system for homes that work through a series of wall-mounted air handlers. Think of one of these systems as similar to a standard split system air conditioner, except the condenser doesn’t connect to a single indoor blower and evaporator hooked to ductwork. Instead, it connects to a series of separate mini-air handlers/evaporators placed throughout the rooms.

We offer installation of ductless heating and ductless air conditioning Fresno, CA. These systems aren’t ideal for all homes, but their benefits make them attractive options if you’re planning on making upgrades or changes to your HVAC system or if you live in an older home lacking ductwork.

Here are a few of the best benefits of ductless mini splits…
