Purl’s Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning is kicking off Coats for Kids 2020. We are now collecting coats for the Annual Coats for Kids drive in the Central Valley to spread the warmth to Fresno and the surrounding areas. We are proud to be working with our customers, local schools and our community to collecting coats. Collection dates are Nov 10th – Dec. 11th, 2020.
Drop off is Easy! Please bring new coats to our local office at 232 South Schnoor Street. For your safety, you can give us a call at (559) 674-2774 when you arrive in our parking lot and we will do a curbside pickup.
This year, due to Covid-19 the Coats for Kids program will be accepting NEW coats only in 2020. Please know that your donation of a new coat will go a long way to help keep the kids in our Valley warm through the winter months. This is especially important in a tough and unprecedented year like 2020.
Thank you to the teachers, parents and students at St. Joachim Schools. We were overwhelmed by the donations and generosity. We also want to thank our Customers, Friends and Employees, who are already bringing in coats for this drive. The support of our local community has a far reach and we may never know the full impact these acts of kindness have for our youth.
A BIG thank you to 93.7 Kiss Country radio station for all the great work they do! All of the coats collected will be given to children who need them most.

We hope you’ve already contacted our team for your annual heating maintenance. It’s the best way to ensure your heating system works at its best through the coming winter. During maintenance, one of the steps we take is to replace the filter for the furnace. A congested filter creates numerous problems for a furnace, including causing it to shut down when you need it the most.
You may be in the middle of deciding on a new furnace installation for your home. Fall is the best time to have this job done. If you’re still on the fence about getting a new furnace, call our technicians for assistance. We’ll provide you with honest and straightforward answers about whether it’s time to send your current furnace to the scrapheap and put in a new one, or if repairs can keep a heating system working effectively and efficiently for a few more years.
As we move toward the end of the year, furnaces will begin to come to life all over the Central Valley, and they’ll remain working steadily through the winter and into spring. At least, we hope they work steadily. A furnace failure can put a family in a bad position. Fortunately, you can always call us for

Heating maintenance is important every year, but this year you especially want your heating system to be prepared for the cold and give you few if any problems.

A broken water heater means an unpleasant day. People often discover they have a failed water heater in the morning after they get up, go to the shower, turn on the tap … and the water never heats up.
There are different ways an air conditioning system can stop working. Sometimes the blower will turn on and send air to the room vents, but that air won’t be cool. Or the AC could keep shutting off after only running for a few minutes. But the most alarming problem for a homeowner—because it’s so immediately clear there’s trouble—is when the AC won’t blow out any air at all. Nothing comes out of the room vents, hot, cold, or otherwise.
